Positive response from Indore proved again that when it comes to helping others, it stands together to support the needy and the poor. That is what April 9, 2016 witnessed at Emerald Heights International School, Rau, at the “Lucky Ali Live Concert”, an ‘Alive’ fund raising initiative,

From this event onwards, we have decided that “ALIVE” would be the name for our fund raising programmes because the word resonates with our desire to help all those facing cancer, fight against the disease, fight for life. Our aim is to not only raise funds for the treatment of poor cancer patients at the Indian Institute of Head and Neck Oncology but also to increase awareness about cancer, to spread the message that cancer is not to be feared and is curable if detected early and treated scientifically.

The citizens of Indore rose to the occasion and gave a heartwarming response to Mr. Devraj Badgara's appeal, "Cancer is a dreaded condition which can change, without warning, the lives of not just those it affects but also the lives of friends and relatives who are left helpless and broken. As someone who lost his father to cancer, I know the uncertainty and anxiety that cancer causes. I salute all those who give their time and energy and also those who fund efforts at research and at providing hope. It is with these sentiments that I appeal to all to support the work being done by Indore Cancer Foundation. More specially, I appeal to each of you to help make us this function a success so that whatever funds we generate help patients find some measure of relief."

We started the work of organizing the Lucky Ali show just 6 weeks before the D date and knew that we had to work extra hard to ensure everything got done within the limited time. Despite the time pressure, the morale of the team was high, our inspiration: to work for the well being of those whom we would, in all probability never meet. Team work plays an important role in making such initiatives successful. Our energetic, motivated and dedicated team of Ms. Shikha Goel, Ms. Mamta Patni, Mr. Rudra Pratap Singh, Mr. Kripal Singh, Ms. Choti Singh worked very hard to make this show a successful one.

As a team we enjoyed the work and it was immensely satisfying to work for such a noble cause. As the date neared, the pressure also increased as did the need to focus in order to make it an unforgettable experience for all.

We are deeply thankful to our main sponsor Oyster, associate sponsor Sainath Ford-Antara, co-sponsors DCU/UCMAS/ODA/Apollo Hospitals/Grand Exotica, radio partner Red FM and online partner Indorerocks.

A big THANK YOU also to Emerald Heights for not only giving their beautiful venue for the concert but also for the support that we received from the President, Principal and staff; right from planning the event to executing it they were with us every step of the way.

Thanks to each and every one, impossible to name all, for their support in making this a grand success.

The overwhelming response from the audience, the donors and artistes alike has motivated us to keep going, to organise more such events where people can contribute towards the cause.

Equally true is the fact that we need more and more people to associate with us and contribute towards this great cause of ensuring that every cancer patient has access to scientific treatment irrespective of his/her ability to pay. Such fundraising initiatives will definitely bring smiles to needy and poor cancer patients.
